HIYA guys, it’s me Sha, otherwise always captioned on this blog as CLN (cute little nanz). For those of you that are wondering, YES we are sisters and YES we are twinsies….born 14 months apart because ninniez was JUST too desperate to see the world she popped out first. And I was SOOOO hungry and greedy I decided to stay inside for 14 months longer.

Last week we met up to take a good ol’ granny trip to the knitting store in Causeway Bay. Nanz was looking for some chunky yarn and drumstick size needles to work on a project that I’m sure she will be blogging about soon. Along the way we also discovered this CLS (cute little store) which I forgot the name of but had a bunch of really cool stuff “imported from Korea”. I’ve been eyeing a pair of sweatpants from the CLS buuuuuttttt the price tag seemed a bit unfriendly for my taste.

On Denise:
Dad’s Ralph Lauren sweater, H&M shorts, Monki blouse, Forever 21 spike necklace, Rabeanco bag and Topshop Ambush boots.

As per usual, we ended up wearing the same color scheme without planning it, as those with twinsies sisters would know, GREAT MINDS THINK ALIKE.

Sometime last week us Lais got together with the mother and had lunch at Doppio Zero. Known for their homemade pastas and seasonal ingredients, I had the calamari linguini which was uber yums – the calamari was fried in what appeared to be baby bits of couscous-like batter. Nanz ordered their own version of bolognese sauce and the waiter informed us would be a white sauce, to which we all replied “HURR??????”. Any meal with free dessert can’t go wrong, the result of mom batting her eyelashes at the waiter and giggling flirtatiously in her man voice. LOL!!! Thanks Doppio Zero!

CAFE TOO

On September 6th, my family celebrated the 24th anniversary of the birth of my little sister Natasha Yingshan Sexy Lai. We took her out to feast at Cafe TOO in Island Shangri-La. Cafe TOO has always been one of our families hands down favourite buffet place. We hadn’t been here in a while so it was a real treat to eat there for a special day! The food was deeelicious as expected but the only disappointment was that they didn’t have any oysters that day…damn fishermen!

Favourite dishes: mini Hainanese Chicken Rice, fresh lobster, made-to-order seared foie gras and scallops, Shanghainese station, crunchy papadums (!!) and double-boiled soup.

Buttttttttt sad news everyone, unfortunately nanz has abandoned me and stranded me here in Hong Kong. Just yesterday she flew her little tuchus off to London where she’ll be taking a fashion journalism course at Central Saint Martins while her boyfriend masters the art of people’s ugly teeth all day. I’ll be twiddling my thumbs while I wait for PLN (poor little nanz) to return to HK in December! Hopefully time will go by fast! If anyone sees her on the street there, go say hi!

Wearing red for Chinese New Year! As most people know, last week was Chinese New Year and we all got a much needed break from work. Chinese New Year is probably the one and ONLY time I’ll ever wish to be living/working in China; they get almost 2 weeks off public holiday! Just imagine how much sleeping and how much MORE eating I can do with an extra 2 weeks!

On CNY day 2 we went to bai leen at one of our family friend’s house and then went for a non-traditional dinner at _SML_. We figured all Chinese restaurants were either fully booked or pai cheung lo (lining up to the streets) so we opted for “fusion/Western”. Side note: on Chinese New Year eve, me sha and my mom had CPK for dinner LOL so untraditional but so gewwwwwwwwd.

Yeah, we’re pretty damn awesome. When referring to my brother’s facial expression, my mom said (and I quote) “Don’t understand why you love to make ugly faces whenever we take group pics, as if I have a retarded child at home!” LOL

On CNY eve, me and mummseh went to the annual Chinese New Year Flower Market in Victoria Park. It was so jam-packed as usual but we managed to get everything we needed: mini cherry blossom tree, white flowers for nanz, a few stalks of orchids and some fat bulbs of chrysanthemums. At the Flower Market they also have tons of stalls selling random crap like $1000 windmills, random blow-up toys (shaped in instant noodle packets or telephone booth looking things) and a TON of Rilakkuma stuff! I was DYING for a long bolster type pillow but no idea which stall was selling it and was probably way overpriced ): le foof.

With my Edie, random skully necklace and random rings. Look how LIGHT my hair is in the sun -___________- hopefully fixing it up soon, is too ugry right now.
