For the fourth time, I ventured out to line up for the YSL Manifesto! This season the black canvas manifesto tote featured this season’s campaign with the regular-faced Arizona Muse (seriously, I wouldn’t be able to pick her out of a line-up).

Nice and early on a Saturday morning I started lining up around 10:45 (yes early bird I am) and was shortly joined by Michelle (of Mizz Shopaholic) and Cko (from HKFashionGeek). This crazy menopausal old lady behind us went nuts and started fussing about them joining me in line. She kept insisting that it wasn’t fair to other people (even though it wasn’t like there was a million people in line and that she wasn’t going to get her free tote) and even asked people around her if they minded (to which none of them even cared). We happily offered to let her go ahead of us but she kept insisting it was the principle that people shouldn’t be allowed to join their friends in line. She then calls over one of the YSL staff and starts complaining to him but even he was like “oh if you have some friends who wanna jump in then yeah! feel free to call them to come along!” Oh god, boring old tai tai’s need better things to complain about.

Anyway did anyone else manage to get the tote this year?

After stuffing our faces with yummy brunch at Oo La, we headed over to Times Square to hit up the Pedder Warehouse sale. I’m just going to go ahead and admit that I spent I think over 2 hours walking around. No, the sale wasn’t really big or had a lot of variety but that’s just me; I like to scour around for hours just looking at everything and making sure I don’t miss anything really good.

Yes, those floral/tree/leafy-heeled McQueens! Even on sale they were about $12000 HKD (~$1500 USD)

The other day I was scrummaging around in my mom’s room for any goodies I could find and I discovered that my mom has bags inside bags inside boxes inside more bags inside even more boxes. She has vintage bags kept since the 80s – lots of granny style top handle/buckle bags (slightly toooo granny for me really) but I did manage to score two really amazing finds:

CUTEST little buckle bag from Celine! I think she said this one was from the early 90s. My mom bought it from a Celine sale and she thinks it was used on the runway cos she found cute little runway notes written on a small piece of paper stashed in there somewhere.

AMAAAZZZZZZZZZZING hot hot hot red Giorgio Armani purse! The only downside is that the handle is a little weird length on me but if I just tuck them on the inside, it can be used as a CLC (cutey little clutch).

Nanz used it the other day to the Dior Addict event and in this pic you can see the straps.

On another totally separate note, howwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww amazing is the matte finish top coat? God I’m obsessed now. Okay my fingers look kinda manky in the photo but I loooooooove the matte finish! Thanks so much to Virginia from HKFG for taking me nail polish shopping!

AND lastly, I posted on tumblr about whether Asians can wear pink shadow above black eyeliner. I decided to test it out the other day but I don’t own any pink eyeshadow (or any eyeshadow really) so I just used my NARS blush in Gilda that I applied with a small slightly wet brush. I’m quite happy with the way it turned out since it’s quite subtle! Thoughts thoughts? And yehh….i rarely wear contacts.

Lane Crawford Warehouse is BAD FOR YOU. I say BAD. FOR. YOU. or actually, bad for my wallé (which is how IIII like to say wallet). I am so so so happy that I finally purchased my first Alexander Wang item (the ponyhair leopard Millie bag icydk) and I got it such a great price too! It really was so so so irresistible and there was simply no way I was going home without it. I actually ended up going home with a pair of Marni riding boots as well. It was only from maybe 3 seasons ago (I forget) and was already heavily discounted. It’s so dang difficult for me to buy long boots, seeing as my calves are the size of bazookas, so it was more like I had to get the boots! Photos next time!

Now, onto the necklace. I just got this yesterday and am so in love with it. I didn’t physically make it myself, but I guess you can say that I “designed” it. They are organic-cut Agate stones strung on a neon pink string and is such a huge departure from what I normally wear (metal chains x1000). In real life the stones are more beige-y/yellowy and in the light, you can see the neon string running through them. Every stone is different and some are more pooey, uh I mean “raw”, than others (gross). My mom thought it’d be super heavy to wear all day but really made no difference to me as my neck is now the buffest part of my body from wearing all my metal chains everyday.

On Thursday we had a public holiday here in Hong Kong for Mid-Autumn Festival. My family went out to one of the older yum cha places, Lin Heung. The food there is really good (I recommend the sup chao ngao hor) but the wait was a real bitch.

Last Friday my mom had an event for Lancel Vintages By Studio Harcourt Exhibition at 1881 Heritage in Tsim Sha Tsui. The exhibition launched Studio Harcourt’s first ever non-portrait project and showed images of some amazing vintage handbags that come from Lancel’s 134 year old archive. I was fortunate enough to be gifted this bag by Lancel (The Elsa Bag). It was also great to finally meet Valerie from Marley & Me and Cindy from Cindiddy, sorry I was being so lame at first guys lol, I guess I was shy :S

The food that was going around that night. Normally at these sort of events we generally like to hover near the food and drinks. That fish finger with tartar sauce was pretty dang amazing and they also had soft shell crab, but honestly, who’s going to eat tandoori chicken wings like that? Obviously, my brother and sister would.

Wore this out to meet up fellow Ladylike blogger, Sandy. So glad to have finally met up since we amazingly have like a million friends in common and she also is friends with half my family pretty much hahaa Anyway we spent the day walking around TST and I ended up getting this super awesome ring from this local store called Chapel:

I then went to China the next day, just for the day, and randomly scored this (what I think is) amazing ring from some little stall in the giant fakes mall in Luo Wu. It was only $50hk/~$6us sooo cheap!!

And for my last ring (umm, is it obvious that I love rings?) : I’m sure everyone has been dying for that popular Forever 21 two-finger cross ring. I can’t believe that in stores it sells for $5us but on ebay, people are selling that shit for like $40-60us! Such a rip off I swear. I saw it and was like, it’s cool in silver/metal but since I have some spare black wooden crosses lying around I thought, hellz, I could just make my own.

And this probably cost me about..$2.5us! Score! P.S. this will be selling in my online jewellery store soon (yes yes, i’ve been saying soon but i’ve also been very lazy).
