Just thought I’d share with you guys a few new things I’ve gotten lately!

I’d been on the hunt for the perfect camo jacket so the second I laid my eyes on this amazing camo bomber, my heart went all aflutter. It’s from a collection called NHIZ which is a collaboration between Japanese streetwear kings Neighborhood and Hong Kong’s edgy cool Izzue. Admittedly, I was at first a little hesitant cos it’s a men’s jacket and I have this irrational fear of being mistaken as a dude…but I tried it on anyway and I luuuurved it. It’s definitely more on the masculine side but nonetheless I still love it paired with my black skinnies and white leather Converse hightops. I don’t have any official outfit shots with it on but if you’ve been following me on instagram or tumblr..you’ll know I’m all about my #elevatoroutfits.

I also recently got another pair of Cole Haan shoes which are these amazing leopard print pony-hair slippers! As you can see, the inside has a quilted foot bed which along with the Nike Air sole, makes that thing so insanely comfortable. They’re actually on sale on the site so you’re lucky if you still want a pair!

I’m moving alot between staying at home with my mom or at my boyfriend’s place so I’m always having to lug clothes, shoes and jewelry around with me. Good thing the lovely ladies at KOTUR gave me this cute little purse with a customized D on it which I use to safely bring my jewelry around with me! Here’s a couple of my jewlery pieces that are on heavy rotation lately: silver Chevron ring by Moratorium, arty ring by YSL, spike necklace from F21 and all others made by me!

And last but not least, my favourite leather jacket is far from new but one day it was hanging oh so cutely on my cupboard doors and I just had to take a picture of it. Inspired by Jason’s post on his favourite leather jacket (check out his new blog here: TOUGHLOVE.HK), I thought I’d let you guys all be jealous of how amazing my leather jacket is wahahah. Well my mom actually got this jacket way back in 2008 from…dun dun dun…ZARA! It was even on 50% sale for like $800HKD (about $100USD) which is such a good score because the leather on this is buttery soft like heaven and it is such a perfect fit.

I ended up stealing it from her and have worn it every single Fall/Winter since! It’s my go to jacket for anything and when worn over anything, be it a tshirt, girly dress or even a wooly sweater, it instantly makes me feel put together and coooooool. The double zipped pockets (both functional) and the pleated elbows (for extra mobility!) make this the perfect jacket. The only thing that I would change about this is the mandarin collar…if it had a regular lapel collar that would’ve made it slightly better..but really that doesn’t stop my from calling this my favourite jacket of alllll time.

Over the years, I’ve been rolling it up and folding up the hem of the sleeve so it has now molded into the perfect sleeve!

128 PRINCE STREET: COLE HAAN

While I was in New York, Cole Haan invited me down to check out their semi-newly renovated store on Prince Street in Soho and to introduce one of their special collections. The store is the perfect blend of tradition, classic, cool and contemporary. Fitted with tons of natural wood and trimmed with black metal along the fixtures, the interior made me feel like I just stepped into the coolest grandpa’s house, if this grandpa wore seriously cool desert boots and double denim (think Nick Wooster or basically anyone who goes to Men’s Fashion Week). They don’t carry a super wide selection of shoes, especially not for women but when you’re the makers of the perfect classic wingtip or oxford, why would you need such a wide selection anyway.

Cole Haan has taken classic shoe silhouettes and injected them with Nike air technology in their soles, making them seriously THE most comfortable shoes and added a twist to tradition with new materials and inventive colorways. Everything in the store felt timeless yet on trend which is exactly what everyone should be investing in.

I was introduced to the special SoHo-exclusive collection where the shoes are entirely made with the 3M reflective material from Nike shoes (you’ll see pics below). You know that little shiny thing that reflects light, normally found on the Nike tick or along the stripes of your airmax 95? Yep, these traditional classic Cole Haan silhouettes were completely made of that material. This collection is the perfect example of Cole Haan’s incredibly innovative twist on a classic shoe.

This picture shows the shoes with and without flash! Imagine wearing these and walking along the streets in the evening when a car suddenly drives by and the lights hit your shoes and BAMMMMM reflection city! These shoes are only available at the store Soho store.

These were one of my favourite pairs! Before the final shoe was all sewn together, each shoe is hand dipped to create the little block of colour which makes every shoe that little bit different from the other. Too bad these didn’t run in women’s sizes ):

They had these cute bowls of colourful shoe laces. I think for every pair of shoes you buy, you get to pick an extra pair of laces!

They had a cute little vintage looking photobooth in the back of the store where you could take pics and it would feed to the digital frames hanging behind the counter. I wan’t to take a pic but I was too shy to take one alone :/

Now back at home!

The lovely people at Cole Haan let me pick out a pair from the reflective collection and I chose the Maliya Wingtips in black!

For my extra laces, I picked these thin hot pink ones which pops real nice against the dark grey. Oh and yes I’m going to change both of the laces to pink later.

These shoes are actually really slippery on the sole, so the trick is to just use a pair of scissors and scratch the shit out of the bottom! After more wear, these scruff up real nice.

Is everyone having an epileptic fit yet? hahahaha, well I love these shoes. Both my mom and nanz have a snake-skin version of the Maliya wingtips and they say they are the most comfortable shoes ever because of the Nike air technology. They’re my first pair of wingtips and I can picture them with rolled up black jeans and my bombass leather jacket. Outfit pics coming soon!

WHAT NOW?

A couple of weeks ago I hit up the Sam Edelman event held at Lane Crawford. The man himself was there presenting a limited edition line of shoes he designed especially for Lane Crawford. It was a fun packed hot little event at the shoe area of IFC where shoppers were confused as to what all the commotion was about, it didn’t help that the event was held RIGHT next to the sale section! There was fun cute little cupcakes and cookies with the iconic Edelman Lorissa and other shoes printed on them served and it was great to see the usual HK social media and blogger peeps out as usual!

I spotted this lady from far away and I thought to myself I haaave to take a pic of her! That necklace, the denim shirt, yellow sweater, leather coat AND glasses were tooooo cool to avoid and I was so so so flattered and surprised she knew who I was hehehe! Turns out she’s a jewelry designer and designed that amazing necklace herself! Bridget (above) and her sister Kate run Barnett Jewellery and they make these amazing skull and tassle necklaces. You guys have to check them out! They don’t have an official website but they run this awesome blog here or find them on facebook! Sorry the photo isn’t the best to show off the necklace but you should really check out their stuff!

And this is what I wore…not a great photo I know..and also check out those th-th-th-th-th-th-th-th-thUNDER THIGHSSSSSSS :D It was super hot in there so I had to take my leather jacket off…but anyways I wore the black Sam Edelman Lorissa’s (along with pretty much everyone there) and I loved how cooooool they made me look lol

I’m off to have a fun day catching up at tea with one of my former bestfriends (hahahaha) who left to Canada millions of years ago and is now back in HK just visiting for a few days and I’m sooo excited to see him! But first, I’m going to be a slave and bring my current bestfriend JULIE PARK some fried rice and then we’re heading for hotpot dinner tonight! Topping the night off with drinks with my favourite blogger gang hehehe can’t wait!
