So here’s a final post from my recent trip to NY, straight G-ing it up outside the Ace Hotel- one of the nicest hotels I’ve ever stayed at btw, highly recommend it! On my last day there we just chilled out mostly, nothing too crazy as Jason was still in work-mode. As you know, food is always a priority for us so we went all American on ourselves and had fried chicken for lunch at Hill Country Chicken, a super super delicious spot near the Ace Hotel with the yummiest, juiciest, surprisingly not too oily fried chicken and very generous sides and desserts. We got the Mama’s Coop set that came with a couple pieces of chicken, 2 biscuits (kinda dry tbh :/ but I never really like biscuits), 2 sides and 2 mini-pies. Oh man them pies…you canNOT go wrong with Creme Brulee and a classic chocolate pie mMmMmMMm nommmmmm. Anyway after lunch we….okay I can’t even remember what we did now cos all I can think of is the juicy super flavourful fried chicken and that creme brulee pie. Well we did SOMETHING and I know it was awesome cos anywhere with Jason always is and then oh yes, we ended my last day in NY with a final meal (takeout) from..Chipotle (a.k.a. Heaven).

There is a very huge guarantee that I will be back in NY for another trip before the end of this year and this next trip will probably the best most exciting one yet and I can only anticipate more delicious food, plenty of heart-warming family stuff and more cute babies than I could even handle, and trust me, I can handle a LOT of cute babies. There’s a couple of basic items that everyone should have in their closet, regardless of if they’re “your style” or not. A white lace-y summer-y babydoll dress is one of them. It’s the perfect throw on on a lazy sunday type of dress for a long lunch with friends and lovers. Top that with another wardrobe essential, the Leather Jacket, and you’re good to go. Expect me to constantly be in this airy fairy white Bailey dress from Jarlo (newly discovered label thanks to Zooq) during the un-welcomed Shanghai hot summer, probably over a pair of leggings or denim shorts cos it’s just that couple of inches too short, bordering on ultra-slutty territory. I’m one of the rare few that seriously hates summer. I will never get used to how hot it gets in Hong Kong and every summer feels a million times hotter than the one before. I sweat like no other and it’s the most uncomfortable feeling in the world. Don’t get me wrong though, I seriously effing hate snow too haha. Give me a breezy 10-18 degree weather, I’ll be out there in a cool jacket and I’ll be good. I’m also one to rarely go out with my hair tied-up but April and May are months of discovering my new “style” so be on the look out for Experimental DD!

After a few couple of days of perfect Spring/Summer weather, we were suddenly slapped in the face with sudden freezing temperatures and a rainy wet Saturday. No biggie, that definitely didn’t stop us from walking over to what is our new favourite weekend spot for our Hong Kong food fix: Cha’s Restaurant. Cha’s definitely cured us from our slight-homesickness or more like our HK food craving. The setting is old school HK cha chaan teng with the green gradient tiled floors and the wooden dividers. Completely overwhelmed by the long menu and all the dishes around us looked so amazingly delicious but we ended up getting the famous fried chicken wings (ZOMG DYING SO GOOD), scrambled egg with shrimp, XO fried seafood instant noodles (not so great) and a egg tart for dessert and 7-Up with Salted Lemon for drinks! If you’re ever wondering what we’ll be up to on a Saturday or Sunday lunch, 95% guarantee we’ll be at Cha’s stuffing our faces with more food. We got the takeout menu to bring home and “study” so we can strategically order all the right things without wasting any indecisive time that could be spent on eating.

FINALLYYYYYYYYY got the furry leopard coat of my dreams! I’ve been wanting one for a long ass time and luckily the fine folks at Choies hooked it up! This furry little guy is perfect: throw it over a tshirt for the not-as-cold days or over tons of layers (including 2 layers of heattech) for the freeeeezing days! Also I posted on insta that I finally got my hair back to the perfect blue. Now that I’ve bleached up my whole head, it’s so much more high-maintenance to get the perfect colour and after a few different experiments with different shades of blues, I’ve settled on Manic Panic After Midnight as the superior choice.
