On the TurboJet ferry ride over to Macau, I finally got to see my little bit in Horizon magazine! It was a short little piece on how I organize my closet. I should be getting a “press” page up soon on my blog..so you can read the little bit whenever I get around to that :D

A couple of weeks ago, my older sister was visting from NY so we went out for some super spiceh Sichuan hotpot! We got a ying-yang pot where half was super super chili soup and the other was some super yummy pear sth soup for my mom. If you’ve never had Sichuan hot pot, just imagine the most spicy, tongue-numbing yet incredibly delicious hot foods you could ever put in your mouth. MmmMmMMMMmmm..

We ordered 2 large size beef mountains and 1 small one…between 4 of us wahahahhaah

I love the hot pot places where you have to concoct your own little dipping sauce..mmmmmm i wanted to take a giant jar of my own sauce home :D

And now lastly, the giveaway! I’m sure you all know how bushy and caterpillar-like my eyebrows are by now…and I have gotten some rude/hate/jealous comments about them..but honestly, I don’t care how bushy and ridiculous they look cos i love my thick caterpillar eyebrows! Unfortunately, I don’t just wake up with magically dark bushy eyebrows (lol what) so I draw (more like FILL) mine in every morning. I usually switch around between a Maybelline crayon or the Bobbi Brown palette but I’ve heard so many great things about the Anastasia brand! Thankfully, my love of thick eyebrows got around and the kind people sent me over a little Eyebrow kit!

It comes with a helpful guide to doing your eyebrows and some cool templates/stencils for shaping them.

I used the brow wax thingy before and after I put on the powder which helps the colour to stay all day.

Few Saturdays ago I spent the day with ninz around our favourite shopping place, Causeway Bay. We walked and window-shopped forever and ended up getting matching sandals for Summer :D I finally got to wear out my Forever 21 sunglasses (the A.Wang inspired ones) that Lynn managed to help me get from Singapore (yay!) and wore out my new polka dot jumpah rumpah (which is what my mom calls a rhomper and thus what I shall forever onwards call a rhomper). Lately I’ve been falling for everything polka dot and have my eye on a million and one new things that I want (uhh what’s new huh?). I’m so glad May is already almost over..before we know it, my next paycheque will be ready for me to deposit :D

Browsing through Izzue always ends with a snack from Sogo. Normally I hate bananas. I hate their smell, I hate the taste and I definitely deteste the mushiness. BUTTTTTTTT, bananas plus Nutella in a crepe? The ONLY time I’ll eat real bananas.

Of course Nanz the piglet had to also get a peach mochi from Mochi Cream.

Way back on Mother’s Day, we took ma mere out to lunch at Agnes B Le Pain Grille on Leighton Road. We absolutely LOVE Agnes B LPG Cafe so taking mother nature out to the actual restaurant was a must.

Just as a side note, the lunchset was $198HK for an appetizer/soup + main + tea/coffee + one of Agnes B signature cakes/pastries. SO freaking worth it!! We were all stuffed to the brim and fully fully satisfied.

The cute little French-like interior was a great setting for us. It’s just so cosy and homey in there. Of course our table (out of only about 10-ish tables) was the loudest and everyone would look at us when we all burst out laughing like we owned the place. We also managed to stay there for like 3 hours!

LOL mom’s the best. My brother was like “no mom, noo, you have to do the GANGSTAH pose like this!”

and of course she did it hahahahahahahaha

Now for the food. The warm little bread rolls were so amazing. They had the classic Agnes B icons baked onto them. And of course, in true Lai form, we managed to rip through about 4 of these bread baskets.

Skipping rigghhtt past my soup (Cream of Broccoli) straight to my STEAK. I had the Grilled Prime Rib Eye topped with Café de Paris with roasted potatos and veggies.

Sooooo I’m back from Singapore! Major photo dump that was, and that was even after I editted down from like 100+ photos. The cute fat baby is my cousin’s new baby! His name is Trent and he’s only about 6 months old! Such fat chubby cheeks I just wanna bite them off and run away with him. Didn’t manage to get any good outfit shots mostly cos I didn’t really care about what I was wearing. It was so freaking hot I wore anything that was super comfortable and I only brought my black vans with me since I knew we’d be shopping and walking around all day.

Oh i forgot to photograph the new pair of flats i got from Topshop. They’re navy elastic flats with a crepe bow on the front: very Lanvin but 1000% cheaper. I also bought a more fitted denim jacket from Gap Kids (I love being able to fit into kids clothes, even if it is Gap Boys XL). Compared the jacket to a Gap women’s denim jacket and they were exactly the same in style and detail except the Kid’s jacket was half the price. I’ll photograph it one day.

Not many people know that I’m actually Singaporean. My mom is Singaporean but my dad is Chinese but I was born in Singapore but was raised in Hong Kong. Complicated? I think not. Thanks to everyone who gave me suggestions on where to go but since I only really had 2 full days to spend there, I basically spent all my shopping time and money on Orchard (ION, Somerset, Wisma, the yoosh [Hey seriously, who knows how to spell yoosh? As in that short-form/slang for "the USUAL"?!?! Wrecks my brain everytime]).

Did anyone notice my haircut? That was one of my major surprises of last weekend. I cut about 4-6 inches off my hair. I know, impulsive huh. I thought about, made an appointment and just 5 days later I cut it all off. I haven’t sat in a salon chair in close to 3 years. Even my hairstylist was like “You’re cutting ALOT off yknow, are you suuuuuure?” Anyway, I was hoping my shorter hair would look cool with my new glasses..I think the combination’s okay so far! I’ll take more photos for the next post.
